Inland Revenue – Stamp duty tax???

I live in the Uk bought a house in Oct last year, and have received a letter from the Inland Revenue stating “i have recieved a Land transaction from you for the above property accompanied by a payment of £. what we paid for stamp duty when we bought the house last year) The transaction appears to be liable to additional tax as detailed aside” Interest due: £103″. Im am so confused and cannot call them till monday to find out. anyone have any ideas? surely once u’ve paid your stamp duty thats it, its not a yearly thing. Please help!!!

It’s quite probably a mistake on the Inland Revenue’s part. Either that or you didn’t pay enough stamp duty at the time, in which case your solicitor is in deep doodoo. Phone him first thing on Monday!
